2022 Harvest: A Promising Start
On August 29, 2022, we began the harvest at Casa de Santa Eufémia — a moment that is always special, marking the culmination of a full year of work in the vineyards.
This year's weather conditions were favourable: a winter with good rainfall followed by a warm but not extreme summer, allowing for balanced grape ripening. The red varieties — Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca — showed remarkable concentration, while the white varieties Malvasia Fina and Gouveio maintained the desired freshness and acidity.
The harvest is done by hand, as tradition demands, respecting the schist terraces that characterise our vineyards at 300 metres altitude. Each bunch is carefully selected by our team, under the guidance of winemaker Lúcia Carvalho.
The first musts confirmed expectations: 2022 promises to be a year of excellence for Casa de Santa Eufémia wines.
